Fear Free Snake Safety Training for Dogs

Protect your dog from snake-bite!

Clearly Defined Safety Behaviours

From the safety foundations of a reliable Recall and Leave-It, to the Snakeley Sentinel School.

At the Advanced level, your dog will learn to indicate to you when they've seen, smelled or heard a snake. They will come to you and do your chosen "alert" behaviour.

The Advanced snake kit includes the odour of two venomous snakes found in your area (Australia only).

You’ll be able to maintain your own snake avoidance training, and train future dogs!

BONUS: No LIve Snakes needed!

Marker-Training Based Safety Program

Fear-free training will not create anxiety in your dog! Old fashioned snake training methods can give unpredictable results.

Benefits include:

  • improve your dog's recall, and leave-it skills
  • add emergency recall to your toolbox,
  • "proof" for reliability despite distractions,
  • teach a precise snake alert behaviour,
  • enjoy and share your learning with your dog.

On-demand Lessons And Live Q and A's

The Program is Organised into Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels. Grab them all, or do them a bit at a time. All options give you forum and live Q&A access.

You can fit training in around your schedule. Revisit videos and lessons as needed during one year of access. Personalised advice to support your progress is included.

You can train in a low distraction learning environment in and around home. Your shy or hyper dog is welcome!

You'll LOVE how your dogs' responsiveness improves as they progress. Best of all, your best buddy(s) will be safer from snakes!

Snake Avoidance Facilitator -
Marra Apgar

My background includes being a forensic engineer's assistant, proofing accident investigation reports for my Dad. This has given me a proactive, safety first attitude to caring for animals! My Degree in biology has allowed me to look into and understand neuroscience and training research.

I was a conservation educator for 25 years, and a wildlife rehabilitator specialising in training birds of prey for rehabilitation after injury. This helped grow my skills in communication and was a great animal training foundation.

When I got my first "own" dog I experienced the distress of watching "dog reactivity" unfold in my pup, while professional trainers failed to help us move past the issue. My girl also brought me the joy of training a champion tracking / mantrailing dog, and living with a wonderful, well behaved, loving companion.

I have since attended many animal training related seminars, workshops, conferences, joined professional organisations and read many books. I love to learn more, every day. I am currently assisted by two awesome dogs, 5 Muscovy ducks and two geriatric, retired ambassadorial raptors.

All of these experiences have melded to allow me to create and offer you a unique fear-free snake avoidance, and general safety training program.
